Granite Countertops | Tile and Stone Works

Buyer Beware

Have patience...

When shopping for granite or solid surface countertops we recommend that prospective customers perform a thorough analysis of each price quotation prior to deciding on a fabricator and placing a deposit to hold a slab. Do not give a deposit prior to receiving a firm detailed quote for your completed and installed project. This quote should always include drawings or at least a sketch.

$30.00 / SF!

Many fabricators advertise deep discounted per square foot prices for well known and common granite species. These advertised prices can be deceptive and all too often are for material and fabrication alone and do not cover other items necessary to the final and complete job such as template fees, sink cut outs and installation, import fees and delivery fees. Customers are quoted $30.00 per square foot, sign a contract and give a deposit only to wait for an onsite measurement to receive the final price. This price often does not include add-ons like edge profiles and backsplashes that the customer does not realize are not included in the original price. Some companies will not fully refund deposits even after the customer learns the truth of the “real” price so you end up paying money and receiving nothing.

Do the math ...

We have many quotes from our competitors shown to us by customers shopping for countertops that claim they are getting the same stone species elsewhere for $10.00 to $20.00 per square foot less than our advertised prices. These same customers are then amazed when we take the bottom line price and divide it by the actual square footage of their project and show them that they are in fact paying much more per square foot than they thought they were. Remember, the bottom line price for a completed project all in is the price that should be used when price shopping your project. Comparing per square foot prices can be risky, confusing, and misleading.

Trust and transparency …

Our estimation process is straight forward and our prices and business practices are up front. We will provide you with a firm quote and itemized details of every charge. We will also provide you with a sketch of your project. The quote and the sketch will be done free of charge prior to giving us a deposit. A cash deposit is always fully refundable prior to commencement of the fabrication process and never taken prior to a final quotation. Our job quotation process is educational and transparent, our quality is top notch, and our prices are truly competitive.
